Victor Premium (Victor P) machines were never intended to be sold outright to the public; they were distributed to be given away "free" as part of promotional campaigns.
Victor disliked the idea of its buyers being exposed to premium machines, on the theory that it diluted the value of the Victor brand, and distribution of Victor Ps stopped around 1906.
This little machine is the scarcer version of the Victor P. Earlier Victor Ps are often described as being "Kleenex box" shaped. This version is smaller and more square than the P1 or P2.
