Six Tune Swiss Music Box - Tremolo Zither for sale

If you're a regular follower of this site you've probably noticed that I don't post a lot of Swiss cylinder music boxes. This isn't because I don't like Swiss boxes (I do) but because there are a lot of run-of-the-mill boxes out there, and I don't like to buy something unless it's something special.

This six tune Swiss music box, playing off a 13" cylinder, is something special. Not only does it have beautiful arrangements, not only does the case have beautiful inlaid marquetry , but it is in excellent, original unrestored condition. There is no damage to the comb, no broken teeth, no broken tips of teeth, no damper squeak, no damper buzz as you almost always find on a box of this type after over 100 years of usage. Excellent, original, unrestored condition.

Judging from the appearance of the case, and the list of tunes on the original tune sheet, I'd date this to the mid-1880s. Here are your selections:

Case dimensions are approximately 22" long by 9" deep by 6" high.
