This version of the Edison Standard Phonograph dates ca. 1904-1909. Though not rare, the Standard makes an excellent starter machine -- compact, reliable, and easy to get parts for.
This Standard has been both cosmetically and mechanically restored.
The case has been nicely refinished to golden oak and a quality reproduction decal applied.
Mechanically, everything in the motor has been completely disassembled, inspected, lubricated and rebuilt. This means that among other things the mainspring has been pulled, cleaned and re-greased, a big job but important for smooth running. The governor has been polished and the governor weights checked for integrity. The upperworks has been taken apart and all bushings/bearings cleaned and lubricated. The tensioner has been freed up and the machine has been re-belted.
The original Model C reproducer has been taken apart and rebuilt for maximum sound.
This machine is now running as smoothly as when it left the Edison factory.
Includes 14" replica horn and five nice cylinder records.
