An unusual phonograph from the mid 1920s in which the folding paper horn (the so-called Polly oscillator ) becomes functionally part of the reproducer.
The laminated horn folds up and is stored in the top of the cabinet.
This machine is complete, original and in good working condition. There is some minor fraying on one edge of the cabinet, and some typical fraying of the horn where it folds into itself, but the horn can be folded together so it holds.
This isn't a big motor. The machine needs to be wound totally tight to play through a single record. I have got it to play through an entire record, but for safety's sake I would leave a small amount of slack in the mainspring if I were to demonstrate it a lot.
These sound surprisingly good and are most often found without the paper cone, which has been reproduced over the years. Again, our diaphragm is original.
