Another of the B series machines introduced in 1906, the BG was one of Columbia's few offerings in mahogany, catering to upper class tastes. The long mandrel was capable of holding Columbia's new 3 minute records. The BM, a machine equipped with a small version of the frictionally amplified Higham reproducer, was housed in the same case.
