Short bedplate machines come late in the history of the Regina music and are conceded by most collectors to be the best sounding of all Reginas. They are always double comb.

This machine started out in life as a Reginaphone, ie a combination phonograph and music box. At some point, somebody removed the phonograph accessories such as the tone arm, bracket and horn. The Reginaphone lid decal appears to have been reframed with a regular Regina lid picture. None of this will affect its musical quality or value as a Regina music box, and in fact the phonograph parts would typically add another $2000 to the price.
