A very nice, clean Edison Home Phonograph, Model B, ca 1904-1909. The case has excellent original finish, and the bedplate has very good pinstriping.
The motor and upperworks have been mechanically restored. This means that everything has been taken apart, cleaned, lubricated, adjusted and put back together. The spring has been pulled and re-greased, the governor shaft has been polished, feed screw cleaned out, the machine re-belted, and more.
Not only is this important to do for smooth running, but in disassembling and inspecting the machine you invariably find components that will cause trouble down the road. On this machine, for example, we discovered that the spring controlling the tensioner was missing, and the lower pulley was warped. The machine would never work right in this condition, and so we replaced these parts.
The Model C reproducer has been rebuilt for maximum sound, and this Edison plays just as loud and brilliantly as it did when it left the Edison factory.
Includes a 14" brass and black replica horn, and five nice cylinder records.
We buy, sell, and repair antique phonographs and music boxes.
