Pathe Advertising clock for sale
$450
An old advertising clock for Pathe phonographs. The glass is nicely reverse painted in gold with the name of a jewelry store in a city that I cannot identify, and the word 'Pathephone.' It wasn't unusual in this era for a merchant to sell phonographs as a complement to something else -- bicycles were often the usual pairing. I haven't run this clock, but it appears to take off, and there is a pendulum with it which as it is mahogany does not appear to be original. The case is quite light; it may be the finish was wiped down at one time. There is a piece of heavy black paper in back of the reverse painting. The crackling in the images is from trees reflecting in the background as I photographed this. There is a crack in the lower left of the glass, which is illustrated in the last of the photographs.
