15 1/2 inch Regina music box -- short bedplate for sale

These late machines, introduced shortly before the first World War, are considered the finest sounding of all Regina music boxes, and as such always command a premium, when available. The short bedplate design, the culmination of the musical box manufacturers art, pushed out a sound and brilliance far superior to prior efforts. The short bedplate is usually associated with fancy serpentine cases, as evidenced by the oak case here.

This example boasts an original finish case, and is in superb mechanical condition. There is no pitting on the double combs, no broken teeth, no damper noise. The motor runs smoothly. I have removed the old worn jewel in the governor and placed a new jewel in it, to ensure a smooth start. The sound is absolutely knock-your-socks-off, as you would expect from a short bedplate Regina in excellent condition.

In the market for a Regina? Listen to this one, and I guarantee that you will not want to own another! It may cost a little more than a clunker on ebay, but you will get what you pay for. Includes 10 very nice original discs -- I have a few extra discs for sale if you want more.
